Interior Decoration Remodeling Thank You, Thank You!

Interior Decoration

Remodeling

I wanted to thank all of you for your words of encouragement and for your prayers after my dad's passing. We are back home and working on moving forward. I'm going to admit that I'm not feeling overly creative right now. Mostly, I'm trying to keep moving one step at a time. I'm also trying to catch up on everything I've been neglecting for the last few weeks. So, for now; I don't have much to say. Thankfully, I'm slowly starting to see the light again.
Thanks again
Carolina

House Building Friday Flickr Favorite

House Building

Busy, busy, busy. I've been terribly distracted from blogging this week!! On the upside, I did make it to Round Top more than once! It was great, but now I'm very behind on all my work. To make up for it, I'm sharing some recent Flickr favorites. I see that they all seem to have a theme...movement. Hope you like:)

Click over to the rest of my Flickr Favorites to see these and more. Hope every one has a great weekend!
I'll be back on Monday with some of my own photos from my shopping excursion.

House Building What A Tease!

House Building

This morning I was scrolling through my phone and found a note I made for myself. All it said was Guy Matthews, Australia. I had no idea what that meant nor when I typed it. So, I went to trusty Google and found photos of an amazing vintage store in Melbourne. Now the frustrating thing is that there doesn't seem to be a website for the place. So I'm left with a few photos that lure me in and leave wanting more!

Intriguing, right? Any Australian readers care to fill me in a bit more? I would love that:)

This is a tribute to all those little things that make our homes special and unique. I found this stylish place on Flickr. If you are a photography nut be sure to link over to Nam N's site. Not only is he an amazing photographer but he also collects the coolest objects! Gorgeous!

House Building Feeling Blue

House Building

The color blue is on my mind lately. As many of you know, I've been obsessed with orange and green for a while now, but I find my eye jumping to all things blue. The top picture is from the portfolio of Eric Cohler. I LOVE this guy! The painted molding to coordinate with the wallpaper is such a great detail.
Strong color doesn't have to be used on a large scale like an entire room. It can be used in small doses.
Frank Roop has a great eye for adding just the right amount of blue. (Found here)

My dream would be to live in a bright blue house like this. I guess I want to be just like Frida Kahlo:)
I'm curious to know. What color are all of you smitten with, lately?

House Building In The Details

House Building

Sorry to leave all you on such a sad note for so many days. I will be away from home for several days, and spent the last two on the road. Until I get back with more inspiration, here is a tiny detail that I love. I don't know if this is a decal or paint, but doesn't make the room? God is in the details they say.

House Building Quiet Please...

House Building

I am not a morning person.
I do not like losing an extra hour in the morning, they are tough enough. As you can see, I am sort of grouchy today and need a quiet place to collect my thoughts. I had a fun weekend, and want to write about it, but that will have to wait till later.

Now, where's my coffee?

House Building A Slight Change Of Scenery

House Building

Happy Friday!
I know some of you have had trouble finding my blog the last couple of days. I tried to switch my domain to dot com site, but it hasn't been a smooth transition. Last night, even I couldn't find it! Until I figure out what I'm doing wrong, I switched back. If anyone has suggestions, please let me know.

Also, this week I decided to shut down my booth @ Heights Antiques. In recent months its been very difficult to make any money, so I decided to move out. I want to thank all of you who stopped by. It was nice hearing from those of you who did. My long time plan has been to begin an online store and I have been hard at work trying to make it happen. I hope to have it up very soon. I can't wait! So I'm hoping to have several fun changes soon.

(I realize these photos have nothing to do what I'm writing about, but I think they're so pretty. I would like to be this girl)

House Building Peeping Tom.

House Building

Earlier in the week I mentioned I would share a look into some personal spaces. Here is the first. This is the home of Luise Helm of Berlin, otherwise known as Allerleirau; on her Flickr site. I wanted to show this personal space, because it has such attention to detail. I really love the fun little vignettes spread throughout the house, and I especially love her collection of old photos. The photo of the girl w/ the unknown person in a bear costume is hilarious. I would love to see that every morning:)

The stairs have such amazing details. They like an art installation.
Another great idea is the wire basket hung on the wall. Great storage and stylish too.

Interior Design Sunday Abstraction.

Interior Design

Hi everyone! I'm trying to get up and running again.
I decided to do something that
will make me feel better.
I'm starting a new series called, "Sunday Abstraction".

Why abstraction?
For one thing
because I love the definition of the word...
Abstraction is the thought process wherein ideas are distanced from objects.
It uses a strategy of simplification, wherein formerly concrete details
are left ambiguous, vague, or undefined.

So.
These posts won't mean anything
They are just ambiguous images and thoughts.

I'm including this video that I am currently OBSESSED with!!
Go here to find the sources of these Flickr photos.

Interior Design Maybe, I Just Like Sitting.

Interior Design

Do any of you ever catch yourself living a particular pattern over and over? Like when you buy a new dress or pair of shoes, and then realize you already have multiple pairs that look exactly the same! Yet when you were buying the shoes or dress, you didn't remember that. Well, that's how I am about photographing chairs, of all things. As I scroll through all my photos, there's always at least one photo of a chair! I find this to be rather amusing, so I decided to group my chair collection on my Flickr site. Here are two of my recent favorites. I'm not sure if this some insight into my soul, or if I just like sitting down.
